Winter can be a tough time for climbers (well those who don’t climb ice anyway), but this month there is lots going on indoors to keep us occupied and inspired.

Recreational Bouldering Competitions
If you are looking to challenge yourself and break into competition climbing in a very relaxed, and fun way check out these events. There will be a range of difficulty in the problems so they are perfect if it is your first comp or your 21st.

Watch some of Ontario’s Strongest to Head to Head in Finals – Live or from your couch.
If you are looking for some excitement to get you hyped for winter training, or just want to see some amazing bouldering; the finals at any one of these events are bound to be amazing. If you are going to the event look forward to great music, big crowds, and maybe some freebies tossed into the crowds from sponsors. There are also some opportunities to watch finals online (links provided below where available).

Women’s Climbing Events: Connect, Learn and Crush
And lastly but certainly the most exciting for me, are the women’s climbing events planned by some amazing and inspired women. These meetups are suitable for all experience and skill levels.
January 19th HWCG at Gravity, Hamilton ON –
A casual get together for all female-identified trans, genderqueer, and non-binary folk. With the goal of fostering stronger climbers, relationships, and communities. For more information email email@example.com
January 28th WTFNB climbing at Basecamp, Toronto ON
wtfnb climbing is an event to welcome and encourage women, trans folks, femmes and non-binary folks to start and keep climbing. The gym will be closed to the general public so remember to grab yourself a ticket!
A 20 year anniversary is worth celebrating! Join Rock Oasis for their party marking 20 years of climbing.
